Features

FernPrint is built around one idea: a photograph is the start of a story, not the end of it. Every tool here exists to put pictures first and let the words that go with them breathe. Here is what readers get, and what invited writers get.

For readers

Image-first browsing

Stories open with their cover photograph, full width, before a single word of text. Profiles lay posts out as a grid of prints, so you can scan a body of work the way you would a contact sheet.

Quiet pages

No pop-ups, no autoplay, no infinite scroll that keeps you longer than you meant to stay. Each page is plain HTML and CSS sent from our server, so it loads quickly even on a slow phone connection.

Replies without an account

Leave a reply with just a name. A moderator reads it first, then it appears under the story. There is nothing to sign up for and no email address to hand over.

Follow with RSS

The Follow button on every profile is an RSS feed. Paste it into any feed reader and new stories arrive there. One feed covers the whole site too, at /feed.xml.

For invited writers

Writers join by invitation. Each one gets a home at fernprint.com/their-handle/, set up like a photographer's profile.

A profile that works as a portfolio

A cover banner, a portrait, a short bio, an optional link to your own website, and your posts below as image-led cards. Readers see who you are before they pick a story.

Photos hosted here

Upload images into your posts and they are stored on the site itself. Each story can carry a cover photograph that leads on your profile, in topic pages and in link previews.

Categories and topics

Sort your work into your own categories, like series or projects. Tag stories with topics, and they join site-wide topic pages that gather related work from every writer.

Long stories, kept readable

Long posts get a table of contents built from their headings, so a reader can jump straight to the part about the second day of the trip.

Made for Vietnamese and every accented script

Most stories here are written in Vietnamese, and the typefaces were chosen for that. Tone marks sit where they belong, stacked diacritics such as ầ, ộ, ữ stay legible at small sizes, and the interface around them stays in clean, simple English.

A link in a story is a normal link. Writers can point to their own websites, their print shops, their sources, or the place where a photo was taken. We do not rewrite links or wrap them in tracking redirects.

What you will not find

  • No like counts, follower counts or view counters. Stories are judged by reading them.
  • No advertising, analytics scripts or tracking pixels.
  • No public sign-up page. Writer accounts are by invitation only.
